Busy Busy!!

We have been so busy lately! BBQ's, weddings, swimming, family visiting, rodeos, rice cereal and more! No time to do anything it seems..it feels like everything takes 10 times longer to do now that I have the baby. No more extended shopping trips..darn!

We have been having some great adventures...Zoe's uncle Matt (my brother) and his finacee visited from California, Mommy went to a rodeo and left Zoe with Ho Ho (my sister), we fed Zoe her very first Rice cereal, and we went to Cul-de-sac of FIRE!

My brother Matt finally got to see little Zoe which was fun..he thought she was adorable! we went to the Animal Planet expo which turned out to be a dud..it was TOO hot that day to be outside for too long. While Matt was in town we went to the Spanish Fork Rodeo which was a blast. Cory had to work and I didn't want to take the baby alone so my sister agreed to watch my baby and her newborn while we took her 2 1/2 year old to the rodeo. It was a good time! Poor little Zoe didn't have fun though she cried really hard for almost an hour and then finally fell asleep. I felt bad!

Little Zoe was so funny when we were trying to feed her the cereal. At first she was trying to "latch" onto the spoon and suckle which didn't work so good. Then she got really frustrated. And in the end she seemed to be okay with the cereal. We have been giving her cereal once a day and it seems to be going well. So we'll see when I dare to try something else..any advice on this from mommies who have been there would be appreciated!!

The last adventure we had was Cul-de-sac of FIRE..a friend of ours lives on a cul-de-sac (hence the name) and each year has a BBQ and fire cracker show. It started out really small just the friends but has now grown into a pretty big party. They charge $20 per adult and they do a really nice BBQ, buy the fire crackers, and make a shirt for everyone. This was Zoe's first fire cracker adventure and she LOVED it!!! It was so fun watching her because she would wave her arms all around and kind of jump on my lap. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen! Summer is so much fun!

The Bees and not the baseball team

Yesterday Zoe and I went to a BBQ at a friends parents house and had a ton of fun. They have a pool so it was a pool party and it was Zoe's first time in a swimming pool!! Poor Cory had to work so he had to miss the fun. It was a nice evening around 7 pm so I was kind of nervous that Zoe would get too cold in the water and hate it. I got into the pool and the baby got handed to me and I put her in a fancy baby tube thingy that lets them float and recline with their legs and bum in the water (super cool thing) at first she was a little freaked out and didn't know what to think but then she LOVED it! She was laughing and kicking her little legs, it was so much fun. We played in the pool for about 45 minutes until it started to get pretty cool. I handed Zoe out to a friend and he wraped her up in a towell and then I got out and started to dry her off and get her dressed. All of a sudden my toe started to hurt I thought I had stepped on one of those pokey weeds or something. But then the hurt started to hurt more so I looked down and I had a Bee sticking out of my toe!! I yelped and started kicking my leg to get the Bee off. Too bad the stinger stuck in my toe! So I got Stung!!! I haven't been stung since I was 6 and it hurt for a good hour before I could really walk normal. Darn Bee! But it was a good thing I got stung cause our friend Stewart was sitting in the next chair over and he is deathly allergic to Bees! Glad to take the bullet for Stewart! Sorry no pictures I forgot the camera..it was a crazy night!

Yay for the 4th!

So yesterday was July 4th which is a stellar holiday! I get the day off to go to parades and watch fireworks! We went and watched Fireworks in West Jordan on the 3rd which was fun. They show a movie leading up to the fireworks show to keep people occupied until it gets dark. They were showing "Back to the Future" which I haven't seen in about a billion years. We got there about half way through and I just couldn't remember a lot of the story so I might have to watch it again to remind myself. I went with my sister and her family which is always a nice time. We were kind of worried about how the kids would react to the fireworks (we had a 2 1/2 year old, a 5 month old, and a newborn baby with us. Pamela the 2 1/2 year old seemed to love the show she might have gotten a little nervous at the loud noise but she did really good. Zoe just loved watching the lights in the sky, she didn't fuss just watched the sky. Cora just slept! I guess that's how newborns celebrate July 4th.

On July 4th we went to a parade in West Jorday on Redwood Road. It started out kind of overcast so the weather was perfect. This was really the first time I let Zoe outside out of her stroller (which has a sun cover) when it wasn't shady or dark out. I was so nervous that her soft baby skin would burn to a crisp so I lathered her up with sunscreen. The parade went so good, Zoe was such a sweet little girl and she just enjoyed being out with her cousins and mommy and daddy watching the parade. Eventually the sun came out and it got HOT! And Pamela got sick of being so hot at the parade so we left before it ended. All in all it was a fun 4th..after the parade we went shopping and it was back home for a good afternoon nap. Then Cory and I watched "The Hottie and the Nottie" a Paris Hilton movie (it sucked but not as much as I expected it to). We hope everyone enjoyed their holiday! Enjoy the pictures..some are from the 4th but some were just on the camera and they are cute!
